I love coffee and coffee shops, especially if they are not part of a chain and Edenvale seems to have its fair share of these (in the past, I have written about the Red Door Cafe and Cafe Bruegel). I have driven past La Tazzina Cup ‘n Cake hundreds of times over the last two years, but it was only recently that I stopped by to have breakfast with a friend. And boy, was I glad! This quaint little cafe is located on Wald Avenue, Dunvegan in Edenvale.
The cafe is located in a small building that houses a butchery, pharmacy and a salon. The place seems very popular with the Edenvale residents as there is always a decent number of people around breakfast and lunchtimes. The indoors has been warmly decorated with pink and blue walls around the counter. Small knick knacks adorn the bookshelves and a huge long table filled with cakes, cookies and muffins, occupies the centre. The decor is rather vintage and cosy. I also noticed a neat pile of blankets for those chilly afternoons and the day’s newspapers if you want to catch up! There are a few tables outside as well, which makes for a nice sunny breakfast spot in winters.
I loved the menu – a couple of laminated pages attached to a pretty wooden board with a lace bow on top! These are the small things that really stand out and make such cafes so endearing.
The cafe serves a nice range of breakfasts, omelette, sandwiches and french toasts. I had a ciabatta panini with tomato and mozzarella while my friend had the most delicious looking french toast topped with strawberries. Both the dishes were fresh and delicious, and the service was quick and efficient.

Ooh! That looks so lovely!
Tell me…does singapore have these little coffee shops? Or are there mostly international chains?
Wonderful ❤
